About Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido

The term JIN JUNG KWAN can be translated like the school of true teaching.

"Jin" meaning truth
"Jung" meaning purity
"Kwan" meaning the school of teaching

This style of Hapkido is based on real situations of aggression. Motions are fast and direct using the straight line and not circular trajectories contrary to the akido. These techniques are fast and powerful, for this reason, this style was adopted by the Korean SWAT TEAM. this style wants to be effective above all, in the respect of the tradition while keeping the authenticity of original Hapkido.

The philosophy of Jin Jung Kwan is summarized in three words: Ji In Kang

"Ji" meaning who inspires with becoming
"In" meaning to preserve
"Kang" meaning force

One can translate it thus, that is to say strong and perseveres in the way which you choose.

Biographies:

Master Wade Langin

Master Wade Langin, 5th Dan Black Belt is the official Canadian representative for Jin Jung Kwan Canada and is a student of Grandmaster Lee Chang Soo, 10th Dan Black Belt.

Among his many impressive talents, Master Langin has an extensive biography encompassing many aspects of martial arts including:

Training, teaching, demonstration, developing curriculum and programs and practical applications such as body guarding and security.

BACKGROUND:

January 2009: Guest Instructor for VIP Personal Protection Seminar in Slovenia & Croatia, hosted by European Protection Teams (EUPT) Instructor - "Introduction to Hapkido" Seminar in conjunction with the VIP Personal Protection Seminar.

October 2008: Guest Instructor for VIP Personal Protection Seminar in Slovenia hosted by European Protection Teams (EUPT).

July 2008: Attended Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido Championships in Korea. Participated in the Masters Demonstration at Championships. Participated in the International Seminar for Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido students taught by Grandmaster Lee.

April 2007: Received 5th Dan Black Belt

April 2007: Hosted the Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido International Seminar Canada 2007 in Calgary with Grandmaster Lee

April 2007: Accompanied Grandmaster Lee and participated in the USA Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido Seminar in Virginia.

January 2007: Training with Grandmaster Lee in Korea

September 2006: Participated in International Hapkido Seminar in Korea with Grandmaster Lee and other International Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido Masters.

August 2005: Established the Canadian Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido Association.

July 2005: Closed Flying Eagle Hapkido Dojangs and opened the Jin Jung Kwan Martial Arts Academy to better reflect the Jin Jung Kwan style of Hapkido.

September 2003: Opened in conjunction with the First Nations of Canada, a fourth Hapkido School (Crooked Lake First Nations)

May 2003: Hosted the 1st International Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido seminar in Canada with Grandmaster Lee Chang Soo.

April 2002: Received 4th Dan Black Belt in Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido under Grandmaster Lee Chang Soo.

April 2002: Received Certificate of Master from The Korean Hapkido Federation of Jin Jung Kwan.

April 2002: Appointed Headmaster for Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido in Canada.

April 2002: Participated in demonstrations with the Korean Hapkido Federation Demonstration Team.

September 2000: Opened Flying Eagle Hapkido Dojang in Calgary, Alberta

August 2000: Received Certificate of Master.

June 2000: Received 5th Dan Black Belt.

July 1996 - 2002: Exclusive contract to body guard country music stars at Big Valley Jamboree in Craven, Saskatchewan and Camrose, Alberta each summer.

1997 - 1999: Conducted health and wellness workshops focusing on Hapkido and stretching for High Schools in the Regina Public and Separate School Boards.

September 1996: Opened third Hapkido School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

September 1995: Opened second Hapkido School in White City, Saskatchewan.

December 1995: Received 3rd Dan Black Belt.

April 1994: Founded Flying Eagle Hapkido in Regina, Saskatchewan and began teaching martial arts full time.

November 1993, 1994: Participated in demonstrations at the White House in Washington, D.C. to the Secret Service and Drug Enforcement Agency.

December 1993: Received 2nd Dan Black Belt.

June 1992 - 1999: Participated in Korean Hapkido Demonstration Team at Mosaic Multicultural Festival and acted as Demonstration Captain in 1997 - 1999.

December 1991: Received 1st Dan Black Belt.

1989: Began studying Korean Hapkido.

Grandmaster Lee Chang Soo

Grandmaster Lee Chang Soo, 10th Dan, is the Grandmaster of Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido and Examiner of the Korean Hapkido Federation.

Upon his many accomplishments, Grandmaster Lee has competed in tournaments, winning the middle-weight division of the first Hapkido Championships in 1976. As a member of the Korean Hapkido Federation Demonstration Team, he has toured throughout East Asia, giving Hapkido demonstrations in Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia. Such involvement and dedication resulted in the appointment of Grandmaster Lee to the Chief of the Central Demonstration Team of the Korean Hapkido Federation, touring throughout Korea and most recently in Germany in 1998 and 1999.

Grandmaster Lee has also shared his expertise in Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido with others; the theoretical and practical applications of the specialized art. In 1986 and 1987, he taught Hapkido seminars to the sheriffs of Korea Airlines and Seoul police department. The success of his contribution and commitment to the art has honored him with the appointment of Hapkido Examiner of the Central Police Academy in 1990, Hapkido Examiner for the National Police Academy in 1992 and the Hapkido Grandmaster of public institutions in 1993.

Grandmaster Lee has devoted his whole life to Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido and continues to impress upon his students his passion and fierce love of the art. Having established Jin Jung Kwan headquarters throughout the world, including Korea, Germany, France and Belgium, Grandmaster Lee is very proud to select Canada as the newest addition to his growing list of schools and students privileged to learn this remarkable and amazing art under his greatness. Still teaching in the first Jin Jung Kwan Hapkido school he opened in 1975, Grandmaster Lee continues to amaze and defy the laws of nature with his keen ability and proficiency in the art.
